Biking: Delmarva's back roads and by ways are perfect for cyclists. Beginners will especially like the easy - relatively flat - terrain. We also have some terrific biking events for novices as well as the more advanced riders.
Hiking: Trekking on the peninsula is probably best done in the fall and winter when there are fewer insects. Many of our state and national parks have trail systems that are perfect for anyone who wants a leisurely hike with the opportunity to see some of our beautiful bird population.
Camping: Camping facilities are available across the Shore. Like hiking many prefer the cooler months for this activity. But many hearty souls greatly enjoy staying on or near the beach. Imagine falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. Many destinations on Delmarva have camping accomodations.
Canoeing & Kayaking: Choose a quiet day on the water and check out how pleasant a canoe or kayak paddle can be. There are many inland waterways that provide peaceful unspoiled moments on our waterways. For adventurers there is nothing like tackling ocean surf in a kayak.
Fishing & Crabbing: Delmarva is known around the world for its fishing and crabbing. These delicacies can be caught boatside or dockside - and with eco-friendly practices it won't hurt the environment.
Kiting & Wind Sports: With steady sea breezes, you can't ask for a better place to fly a kit or take ride on a wind surfer. Delmarva is also host to a number of annual kiting festivals that are beautiful to watch and fun to join in.
Surfing: Surfing has been a long-time favorite of the locals. And, surfers have been steadfast partners in the effort to protect our environment. There are lots of opportunities to learn to surf or watch competitions through out the summer. You'll even see a few experienced diehards catching waves in the dead of winter.
Cultural & Historical Attractions: Delmarva has its own unique cultural and historical attractions. Be sure to visit our museums and galleries featuring the work of talented local artists. There are also a number of annual events featuring great music, fine art, and delectable cuisine.
Collecting Memories
